Lene Maria Christensen

Biography

Lene Maria Christensen (born 10 April 1972 in Hillerød) is a Danish actress.

Graduating from the Danish National School of Theatre in 1999, she works regularly in theatre, film, and television. She gained recognition in cinema for her roles in Terribly Happy (Frygtelig lykkelig, 2008) and A Family (En familie, 2011), performances that earned her several Bodil and Robert Awards for Best Actress. On television, her role in the drama series The Legacy (Arvingerne) won her a Robert Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Television Role.

From 2020 onward, she continued her career with the thriller The Exception (Undtagelsen, 2020) and distinguished herself in the drama Rose (2022), which earned her both a Bodil Award and a Robert Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also appeared in the films Unruly (Ustyrlig, 2022), Kingmaker (Mørkeland, 2024), and Honey (2025). On television, she featured in the series The Dreamer - Becoming Karen Blixen (2022), The Orchestra (Orkestret, 2024), and Uniformen (2026).
